At NordicClick, we just celebrated nine years, and generally anniversaries that don’t fall on “golden” years are forgotten or taken lightly. One of the best pieces of news we received close to our 9th Anniversary was that we were named to Minnesota Business Magazine’s List of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2016. This is our second time receiving this award, but we are even happier now than we were to receive the first one. Why?
As companies grow, the first thing that seems to change is culture. New additions add excitement, but they can also change the dynamics of the company. People value work culture differently. Our goal has always been to hire people who not only have Digital Marketing experience but also fit our culture. It needs to be a fit for us and a fit for the new person. This is how we have built our foundation on relationships – relationships with our clients, team members, and partners.
Clients
Many of our clients have been with us since our inception. The key to our success is building personal and professional relationships with our clients. To foster these relationships, we believe in the value of face time. Nowadays, so much of business is conducted through emails and phone calls that those relationships are hard to build. This often results in a lack of loyalty.
We believe client meetings should be conducted in person at least once a month for our local clients and once a quarter for our out-of-state clients. We also host client events, summits, and outings with our client contacts.
Receiving the Minnesota Business Magazine 100 Best Companies to Work For award would not be possible without the dedication and loyalty of our client partners. We thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts.
Team Members
NordicClick would not be where we are today without our employees who work their tails off for us. We promote a ‘work-hard, play-hard’ atmosphere and we have found this fosters a collaborative environment. Amidst the hard work, we take our fun time seriously. Our “Fun Committee” plans at least one team bonding event each month, such as boat outings, visits to the farmers market, bowling, beanbag tournaments, March Madness and Fantasy Football competitions, and more.
This year, to share a bit about our culture, our team gave tweet-length quotes about what they enjoy most at the office.
“Genuinely enjoying the people you work with is rare, and if you want it to be a reality, you have to make time for it. Whether it’s an obscure holiday or just a sunny day, we take any and every excuse for team bonding. It’s a priority here, and for that I am so thankful!”
NordicClick is a digital marketing agency located on Lake Minnetonka… with a boat! The culture here is that of hard work with a laid-back twist and leadership which actively promotes the value of work/life balance. A fast-paced environment experiencing growth, NordicClick is a highly challenging and rewarding workplace.”
“NordicClick truly values all of their employees’ successes, as they provide us a positive atmosphere and learning experiences to grow our skills. A major emphasis of our office is having a work-life balance as we enjoy half-day Fridays during the summer and who can complain about our view or the company boat.”
I think all of us here at NordicClick do great work, love what we do, and enjoy the culture the company brings. Plus having an office located on Lake Minnetonka makes the Minnesota summers especially nice as we get to enjoy the view and a boat ride or two.”
Partners
Jeff, Adam, and I met at Digital River in 1998 and have been friends and business partners ever since. We often joke that we spend more time with each other than we do with our families. As the company grows, this strong dynamic between the partners is crucial because it sets the tone for the rest of the team. The Partners at NordicClick are aligned with the goal of growing the business while preserving that tight-knit, family-like culture.
We are grateful to our fantastic employees who voted for this award; to Minnesota Business Magazine for the honor; to our clients, company partners, advisors, and mentors, who have gotten us to this point; and to our families, who put up with the long hours and stress that come with the territory.
