A medical equipment manufacturing company had inconsistent Google Analytics tracking across multiple microsites, leading to the double-counting of pageviews and conversions.
GA4 implementation leads to accurate data across microsites
The Challenge
Key Facts
Medical Equipment Manufacturing
Google Analytics 4
The Solution
The team reviewed the current Universal Analytics and Google Tag Manager (GTM) setups to pinpoint the inconsistencies and errors in tracking and created a plan of action.
First, we fixed the issues in Universal Analytics, to allow for a baseline of accurate data.
Next, we created new GTM accounts and containers for the websites that did not currently have, or didn’t have access to, a current account.
Finally, with the core structure in place, we set up each microsite with GA4 through GTM. This setup included:
- Conversions (File Downloads, Outbound Clicks, Form Conversions, and Video Views)
- Thank you Pages
- Custom Explorations to allow for easy visibility into conversion and download/click data.
The Results
The finished product was a single GA4 account with all 4 microsite properties included.
With this new setup, this client had accurate and reliable Google Analytics data that was easy to access.
